Lake Metroparks Farmpark is a working farm and education center located in Kirtland, Ohio. Opened in 1990, the farm is located on 235 acres with fields, gardens, and standard farm buildings, devoted to agriculture and farming. Farmpark'south mission is to provide a connection to our agronomical roots while helping people empathize where our food and clothing come up from.
Farmpark features dairy cows, pigs, sheep, chickens, rabbits, horses, alpacas, and goats, a constitute science eye, agricultural equipment exhibits, playground and more. Equus caballus or tractor-drawn wagons provide visitors rides to all destinations throughout the park. Wagons are handicap attainable.
Daily activities include demonstrations and educational programs related to farming and gardening. Special events occurring on a monthly basis include: Water ice Festival, Maple Sugaring Weekends, Sheep Shearing Weekend, HorseFest, Vintage Ohio Wine Festival, Fall Harvest Weekends and more.
Farmpark is an award-winning park and was named i of the superlative 10 educational sites to larn virtually farming with an average visitation of more than 100,000 students from area schools each year.
History
The site that is now part of Farmpark was originally purchased in 1831 by Christopher G. Crary from Joshua Stow of the Connecticut Land Company. In 1854, Crary purchased additional belongings to expand and in 1882 Robert Criswell purchased 206 acres of Crary'southward farm. In 1943, the farm was sold past Creswell'south estate to Grayce Farinacci. In 1968, Dr. Leonard T. Skeggs purchased 119 acres from Grayce Farinacci and 116 bordering acres to heighten Polish Arabian horses under the name Locust Farms. Lake Metroparks purchased the 235-acre Locust Farms in 1987. From the time of purchase in 1831 to the present fourth dimension, Farmpark has been utilized as a site for farming and agriculture.

Farmpark is open up 9 am to 5 pm Tuesday through Sunday (closed Monday).
Admission
Farmpark admission applies to daily activities and daytime special events. Advanced tickets not required. Special access rates and hours apply to Vintage Ohio and Hamlet Peddler Festival. Halloween Drive-thru and Country Lights Drive-thru are evening events and crave advance purchase of tickets.

- Active U.S. military machine and family are free with military ID
- Lake County resident free days are the first Sun and 3rd Tuesday of each month (proof of residency required, no groups).

- Bicycles, scooters, skateboards, hoverboards and skates are prohibited.
- Pets are non permitted into Lake Metroparks Farmpark.

Visitor Center
